View points

We recommend visiting the big tower of the Písek Deanery Church, which today serves as a view point. You can book a visit here or at the Tourist Information Centre of Písek.

You can get a good view of the region from lookout towers. The first of them, Jarník, is about 4 km far from the town centre. The lookout tower offers two staircases for ascending and descending. The lookout platform of Jarník is 35 meters above the ground and offers beautiful views of the Písek Hills area, the town of Písek, and the surroundings.

Deeper in the forest, near Albrechtice nad Vltavou, is the lookout tower called Vysoký Kamýk. Another tip is a lookout tower with a similar name – Velký Kamýk, 6 km far from Písek in the direction to Strakonice, near the village of Velké Nepodřice.

However, you can also go to the village of Čížová, just a few kilometers from Písek, and have a nice view of from the hill of St. Jacob.
