Museums of Písek

You can find three main museums in the Athens of Southern Bohemia:

• regional Prácheňské muzeum, awarded European Museum of the year 1996, placed in the former medieval royal castle
• museum of public lighting in the Municipal Power Station, the oldest public water power station from 1880s
• Memorial to Adolf Heyduk, house of famous Czech poet includes original equipment from the beginning of the 20th century
