Transportation Connections to Písek

Arriving by car – roads:

• highway D4 from Prague (105 km)
• I/20 (E49): České Budějovice (53 km) – Písek – Plzeň (83 km) – Karlovy Vary
• I/29: Písek – Tábor (50 km)
• II/139: Písek – Radomyšl – Horažďovice
• II/140: Písek – Putim – Drahonice – Bavorov

Parking options:

• free of charge: parking P1 Výstaviště
• paid parking: P1 (near the river), P2 House of culture (Kulturní dům); historical town centre (Velké náměstí, Alšovo náměstí, Jungmannova ulice, Komenského ulice, Fügnerovo náměstí, Na Bakalářích).

For tourist busses: terminal for getting off/on (15 mins) in the front part of parking lot P1 Výstaviště – few minutes from the Stone Bridge, next to public toilets

Train connections:

Bus connections:

• regular routes from Prague, České Budějovice and other places
• seasonal services on the weekends: ski busses (December to March) and cykling busses (May to October)
• From September 1 to December 31, 2025, the bus station in Písek will be closed due to reconstruction. Stops for some routes will be relocated to Baarova Street, where five temporary stands will be set up. Long-distance and bike buses will depart from the stop “U autobusového nádraží” (they will not enter Baarova Street).
